MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE:
-
Led the charge for the 100ft Strip
to ensure publics right to use water
property owned by the Wisconsin
River Power Company
-
Played a contributing role in
stopping the Crandon Mine - a
sulphur ore mine which would have
flowed directly into the Mighty
Wisconsin River
-
Worked to develop a recreational
plan for both lakes with the power
company, DNR, and the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC)
-
Intervened and stopped chemical
companies applications to construct
plants that would dishcarge
chemicals into the Wisconsin River.
-
PCPOA's efforts brought a new wave
of boat ramps and hiking trails on
both lakes.
-
PCPOA led the charge to "Clean the
Green" on our lakes and is still an
on-going process.
-
Developed pers and access for the
handicapped.
-
Sponsor for local fishing
tournaments.
