After much litigation and meetings the past two years, Jeffrey Boldt, Administrative Law judge, issued a ruling in February 2010 which would allow 79 boat slips on Klein Creek. GET THIS, with no penalties or fines for the years of past violations. There also was expert testimony of vegetation and spawn beds being disturbed and destroyed. It was always felt that it is the DNR and State’s duty to protect the rights of the public’s use of the water. One must ask, “Where is the true justice?”
Possibly on the bright side: The publicity in this area has greatly expanded the awareness of this and other issues to a very large segment of the public. Be assured that many, many more eyes will be monitoring this and other issues if violations or suspicions are actively observed.
To all: Remember the DNR Hot Line Number – 1-800-TIP-WDNR (847-9367)
